Panasonic A6 Servo Motor and Driver Instruction — Dynamic Brake

Abstract

This driver (A to F-frame) is equipped with a dynamic brake for emergency stop. Pay a special attention to the followings.

Caution → 1. Dynamic brake is only for emergency stop.

Do not start/stop the motor by turning on/off the Servo-ON signal (SRV-ON). Otherwise it may damage the dynamic brake circuit of the driver.

The motor becomes a dynamo when driven externally and short circuit current occurred while dynamic brake is activated may cause smoking or fire.


2. Dynamic brake is a short-duration rating, and designed for only emergency stop. Allow approx. 10 minutes pause when the dynamic brake is activated during high-speed running.
(F-frame (200 V)) built-in dynamic brake resistor is capable of handling up to 3 continuous halts at the rated revolutions with max. permissioble interia. When overheated under more critical operating conditions, the brake will blow out and should be replaced with a new one.
• You can activate the dynamic brake in the following cases.
  1. When the main power is turned off
  2. At Servo-OFF
  3. When one of the protective function is activated
  4. When over-travel inhibit input (NOT, POT) of connector X4 is activated
    In the above cases from 1) to 4), you can select either activation of the dynamic brake or making the motor free-run during deceleration or after the stop, with parameter.
    Note that when the control power is off, for A to F-frame driver, the dynamic brake will be kept actived.

Condition setting chart
1) Setup of driving condition from deceleration to after stop by main power-off (Pr5.07)

Torque limit value at emergency stop will be that of Pr5.11 (Setup of torque at emergency stop) when the setup value is 8 or 9.

2) Setup of driving condition from deceleration to after stop by main Servo-OFF (Pr5.06)

Torque limit value at emergency stop will be that of Pr5.11 (Setup of torque at emergency stop) when the setup value is 8 or 9.

3) Setup of driving condition from deceleration to after stop by activation of protective function (Pr5.10)

When setup value is within the range 4 and 7, the protection function that supports immediate stop acts according to operation A and the function that does not support acts according to operation B.
During decelaration to stop, the main power supply must be maintained.
When the protection function acts, content of deviation counter is cleared as the alarm is cleared.

4) Setup of driving condition from deceleration to after stop by validation of over-travel inhibit input (Pr.5.05)

Torque limit value during deceleration will be that of Pr.5.11 (Setup of torque at emergency stop) when the setup value is 2.
Changes will be validated after the control power is turned on.

Introduction of SWITEK Side Entry Petri Dish Packing System

The SWITEK side entry petri dish packing system is a custom made automation system for the stable production of laboratory consumable plastic petri dish with the picking robot, the petri dish assembly, stacking, packing unit etc. integrated as auniformed system for the efficient and stable production of the petri dish. The system can be custome made for a petri dish mold layout design of 2+2, 4+4, 6+6, 8+8 etc.

  • (1) -- Side Entry Robotic Arm: The picking arm of the packing system in handling the picking of the petri dish from the injection molding machine and place them on the assembly unit.
  • (2) -- Injection Mold: The core injection unit to shape the petri dish, it can be 2+2, 4+4, 6+6, 8+8 configuragion of the petri covers and bottoms.
  • (3) -- Petri Dish Assembly Unit: Have the cover and bottom of the petri dish assembled and drop it on the conveyor.
  • (4) -- Sorting Conveyor: Lined the assembled petri dish sets for stacking before packing.
  • (5) -- Stacking Station: Have the well assembled petri dishes stacked up as requested (5/10/15/20/25 sets etc.).
  • (6) -- Petri Dish Packing Unit: Have the well stacked petri dish packed and sealed with optional function of vacuume the bag.
  • (7) -- Petri Dish Transfer Robot: Catch the well sealed petri dish bag and drop it to the conveyor.
  • (8) -- Petri Dish Dropping Conveyor: Deliver the well packed petri dish.
  • (9) -- Injection Molding Machine: The injection unit of the whole syste.
